Free housing in the USA

Hi everyone! I’m currently based in the US and looking for new ways to explore different parts of the country without spending a fortune on hotels or rentals. I recently heard about house sitting as a way to travel and stay in real homes for free, just by looking after the place while the owners are away. Sounds perfect, but I’m not sure where to start. Most platforms seem focused on international listings or require a ton of upfront fees. I’m hoping to find something more local and straightforward. Has anyone here had luck with house sitting in the US?

Absolutely! I’ve had great experiences with
house sitting US, especially when it comes to saving money on accommodation. It’s such a smart way to get free housing in exchange for looking after someone’s pets and home. If you’re an animal lover, it’s a win-win—you get a cozy place to stay without paying rent, and the pets get to stay in their familiar environment. I’ve found some of my favorite stays this way. One platform I recommend is FlatRover. They have a good range of US listings where you can care for pets while enjoying free accommodation.
